History

PPPLAX actually started in a sense in 1963 when the founder's uncle, James P. Brown played Lacrosse for Montclair High School in Montclair, New Jersey under the Hall of Fame Coach Gil Gibbs. Montclair has enjoyed a long history of great success in Lacrosse and many other sports. Historically, the sport of Lacrosse is known as predominantly a caucasian sport of the financially affluent in society. In reality, the sport of Lacrosse has its origin from Native Americans.
As of today, Lacrosse is played all across the world and is the fastest growing sport in North Carolina. However, still the historical perception is that the sport is only played by Caucasians. As you can see the picture here shows 7 African American players out of 30 players and today a roster of the same size may have 2 African American players. However, a change is coming and PPPLAX wants you to know that LACROSSE IS FOR EVERYONE!
